Karthik and Akhil win

BANGALORE: C.P. Karthik won the youth boys’ singles title with a 11-8, 7-11, 11-5, 11-5, 11-9 win over V. Akhil in the final of the Canatra Union State-ranking table tennis championship here on Tuesday.

Akhil, however bagged the junior boys’ singles title beating A.R. Navneeth 9-11, 11-2, 7-11, 11-6, 11-9, 7-11, 11-6.

Girls: Junior: R. Madhuri bt Nisarga 12-10, 11-4, 15-13, 11-8; Youth: N. Poojitha bt R. Madhuri 9-11, 12-10, 8-11, 11-7, 6-11, 13-11, 18-16.

Veterans: H.K. Umesh bt K. Prasad 11-8, 11-8, 11-9.
