BEL downs CIL

BANGALORE: BEL SC defeated CIL SC 2-1 in a super division football championship match at the BDFA Stadium here on Tuesday.

It was rain which virtually came to the rescue of BEL after it was down by a first half goal by CIL’s Pradeep in the 14th minute.

CIL looked all set to consolidate its lead and claim full points before heavy showers made the going tough for the players towards the closing phase.

It was during this trying period that BEL struck two quick goals. K. Srinivas scored in the 80th minute and Suman effectively sealed CIL’s fate scoring the match-winner a minute before the final whistle.
