Pune: Mughal-E-Azam and Balthazar caught the eye when the horses were exercised here on Tuesday morning (Aug. 21).

Gate practice (Training track):

1,000m: Romantic Agenda (Appu), Classic (Harish) 1-8.5, 600/41. They moved level freely. Electrona (T. S. Jodha), Kiss Away (N. Jodha), Passion In The Park (rb) and Dragonair (I. Shaikh) 1-10, 600/43. They jumped out well and moved freely.

Mock race (Race track) — Aug. 20:

1,200m: Velvet Rope (Merchant), Star Of China (Rathore), Perpetuity (Appu), Balance De Power (C. S. Jodha), Everybody Counts (Dashrath), Schnell (I. Shaikh), Walking Tall (Oza) and Home To Home (Belose) 1-12.5, 600/36. Velvet Rope who was running fourth till bend easily came from the outside and won by two lengths. Star Of China led the field till beaten. Perpetuity who was racing sixth till bend comfortably moved on to be third. Note her.

Second mock race:

1,200m: Party Celebration (Aadesh), Ka Ching (Harish) and Binee (Baandal) 1-14, 600/36. First and second named finished in close order. Last named was slowly off by a distance.
