Science City to be established soon

Bangalore: The Science City planned in the vicinity of Bangalore will become a reality shortly, according to Minister for Science and Technology Ramachandra Gowda.
Briefing presspersons about the State-level Science and Technology Sammelan being organised here on Thursday, Mr. Gowda said the Science City would be built a cost of Rs. 75 crore on Bannerghatta Road. The Government had provided nearly 100 acres of land, and the details of the project were now being finalised.
The Minister, along with Karnataka Science and Technology Academy Chairman U.R. Rao, said the State Government was doing its best to promote science at all levels despite the fact that there was a shortage of science teachers. Karnataka was the only State in the country that had a State-run Science and Technology Academy, which was started in July 2005.
As part of the sammelan, which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, C.N.R. Rao, Chairman of the Technology Advisory Committee to the Prime Minister, and U.R. Rao will be honoured.
