Wards to be upgraded

Bangalore: The Health Department is taking steps to upgrade facilities in burns wards in select districts in the State, Health Minister R. Ashok has said.

Speaking to The Hindu, he said a list of districts where air-conditioned chambers can be opened and specialised doctors and plastic surgeons provided was being drawn up. On the conditions in Victoria Hospital, he said he had spoken to the Medical Education Minister on improving and expanding the intensive care unit and the burns ward.
