DEHRA DUN: The Uttarakhand Government will raise four battalions of the Eco Task Force through its own resources to tame the fragile hills in case the Centre does not foot the bill. Similarly, guest houses will be built at all important places along the Char Dham Yatra route to facilitate a comfortable pilgrimage and sightseeing by families of serving and retired Servicemen, Chief Minister Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri told the visiting Army Chief, General J. J. Singh, here on Tuesday. Appreciating the efforts being made by the State Government for the welfare of the ex-Servicemen, General Singh assured the Chief Minister that the Army would build residential accommodations in places having the necessary education and other infrastructure so that the children of Army personnel have an equal opportunity to acquire education and vocational skills. The Army Chief later called on Governor Sudarshan Aggarwal.
