Anganwadi workers stage dharna

UdupiL: The Udupi District Anganwadi Workers and Assistants Association staged a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office here on Tuesday seeking fulfillment of various demands.

A memorandum addressed to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy was submitted at the DC Office. The association demanded that minimum wages be paid to anganwadi workers and assistants. They have urged the authorities that salaries pending since four months be disbursed immediately. The authorities should arrange to pay the salaries before the fifth day of every month , it was said in the memorandum.
