Call for bandh in Aanamalai today

POLLACHI: The people and representatives of political parties under the aegis of Aanamalai Assembly Constituency Retrieval Committee have called for a total bandh in Aanamalai on Wednesday urging the authorities to restore Aanamalai Assembly constituency as announced in the draft scheme. Two committees have been formed to propagate the benefits of having a new constituency and taking legal steps to retrieve the proposal. The Aanamalai and Vettaikaranpudur areas have been falling under the Valparai (reserve) constituency. The people demand a separate constituency as announced in the draft scheme of the Delimitation Commission.
