Sabarimala temple closed after puja

PATHANAMTHITTA: The five-day monthly puja in the Malayalam month of Chingom came to a close at Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa Temple on Tuesday.

A Kalabhabhishekom was held at the temple prior to the Utchapuja. Tantri Kandararu Maheswararu performed the Kalabhapuja at the Namaskara Mandapam in the forenoon.

The kalabhom was distributed as prasadom among the devotees. The sanctum sanctorum was closed by Melsanthi E. Eeswaran Namboodiri.

Reopening on August 25

The temple will reopen on August 25 for the Onam festival puja that begins the next day.

The Melsanthi will host the Uthrada-sadya to the Devaswom staff and devotees.
