State senior badminton from August 29

PUDUKOTTAI: The Pudukottai District Badminton Association and JJ College of Arts and Science will jointly conduct the State senior badminton championships at the Kalaignar Indoor Stadium in the latter’s campus here from August 29 to September 2.

Singles, doubles and mixed doubles events are part of the tournament, which will be conducted in men’s, women’s and veteran’s categories.

TT league

SDAT-Ellis Table Tennis Coaching Academy will organise the Madurai District Bharath Petroleum prize money table tennis league for college students and school boys at Madurai from August 26.

The matches will be held only on Saturdays and Sundays. The total prize-money involved is Rs. 20,000.

Athletics meet

At Tiruchi, around 400 students from 60 schools in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala will participate in the KVS regional-level athletic meet for girls to be hosted by the Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, HAPP, Tiruchi, from August 22 to 24.

Sports meet

The State-level inter-collegiate sports meet for engineering, arts and science colleges for the Kongu Trophy will be held at the Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai, from September 7 to 9.

About 1,500 college students Tamil Nadu will contest in the tournament, comprising basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton and kabaddi.
