Bopanna to face Julien

NEW DELHI: Rohan Bopanna will face Julien Jeanpierre of France, six days younger and 14 places inferior to him in the ranking list at 237, in the first qualifying round of the U.S. Open.

The 270th ranked Prakash Amritraj will be up against the 17-year-old Kei Nishikori of Japan, ranked 268th in the world.

In the women’s section, Sunitha Rao will face Monica Niculescu of Romania.
