‘Australia must learn to adapt to Twenty20’
NEW DELHI: Come September and Brett Lee will be back in action when Australia attempts to add a second World Cup this year.
The inaugural Twenty20 cricket World Cup in South Africa will be a litmus test for Australia which is “yet to adapt” to the further-shortened version of the game.
Lee, the spearhead of the Aussie attack in the absence of the now-retired Glen McGrath, is eagerly looking forward to it.
“I’ve done it in the past, so this will not be a new role for me. Australian cricket is now turning a new leaf.
“We can only take into these Twenty20 matches the fact that... we must learn to adapt so that we can win the competition,” Lee said as he chose to underplay Australia’s chances while speaking to newspersons after launching a new range of Timex watches here on Tuesday.
