Man duped
Thiruvananthapuram: A customer who had been withdrawing cash from the district treasury branch at State Bank of Travancore’s Statue branch on Tuesday morning was duped by unidentified persons, who made off with cash amounting to Rs.1,70,000.
According to the Cantonment police, Bhaskaran Nair of Monvila, former attender, Government Arts College, had been collecting cash from the counter after changing the salary bills of the gazetted officers of the university.
He was distracted by two persons who pointed out that some notes were scattered on the floor. When Bhaskaran Nair bent down to check this, they made off with cash which had been on the counter top. The Cantonment police have registered a case.
