No. 2 man quits Delhi Metro
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Tuesday bade farewell to its Director for Projects and Planning, C.B.K. Rao, who put in his papers a fortnight ago.
Mr. Rao, who was the second-in-command at Delhi Metro after Dr. E. Sreedharan, cited “personal reasons” for his resignation. While he refused to comment on why he chose to demit office, sources said he had been “presented better offers outside DMRC”. A former Indian Railways official, Mr. Rao, whose term as director was to end in May next year, is credited with carrying out the planning of Delhi Metro’s Phase I and Phase II.
