Probe into Khundroo incident

NEW DELHI: A Central fact finding team will leave for Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday to inquire into the August 11 fire at the Army’s ammunition depot at Khundroo in Anantnag district.
The four-member team, led by a senior Defence Ministry official, includes a high level official from the Union Home Ministry. The team will look into various aspects of the mishap, especially those related to the safety and security of the personnel and civilian population living in and around the depot area. The team will also hold talks with State Government officials.
Over 25 people including the officer-in-charge, Major Tarun Kumar, died in the blast.
