Assembly security spills over to Srinagar streets
Shujaat Bukhari
SRINAGAR: As the fortification of the State Legislature complex virtually disrupted life in the heart of the city for the second day, the business inside the House was marred by frequent adjournments and pandemonium with parties demanding a discussion on issues ranging from the Khundroo ordnance depot fire to the plight of migrants in Jammu. Chief Ministercounselled against politicising the Khundroo incident, which, he said, was a human tragedy.
Mr. Azad was responding to a discussion in the Legislative Council where many members expressed concern over the fact that many such ammunition depots in civilian areas were a permanent threat to the people.Life in many parts of the city came to a halt as the area around Assembly complex was taken over by the security forces.
