NAMAKKAL: A team of officials seized 69 domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders which were found being used for commercial purposes in Namakkal town recently.
Following widespread complaints from the public, Collector G. Sundaramurthi formed a team to inspect the commercial establishments.
The team inspected teashops, restaurants, hotels, workshops, marriage halls and hostels.
In a press release, the Collector said that it was brought to the notice of the administration that a few delivery workers of gas agencies were collecting excess amount. Stern action would be initiated against them.
