2 robbers nabbed

KASARAGOD: The Kanhangad police here arrested two robbers, wanted in several theft cases, from Kanhangad railway station premises on Tuesday.

The arrested are Karat Naushad (32), a native of Kanhangad South and M. Abbas (25), native of Banthiyode, Uppala in the district.

The duo had been accused of breaking into the house of an official of Central Plantation Crops Research Institute here and theft of 65 sovereigns of gold from a house at Kumbla.

Naushad had been the main accused in theft of idols from Madiyan Kulom temple, and Mallikarjuna temple, Chittari in the district.
