Patna: With reports of 18 deaths from the flood-hit districts in Bihar, the toll in the recent deluge rose to 420 in the State even as there was significant improvement in the overall situation with waters of all major rivers receding. According to Central Water Commission officials, the overall scene has improved with no rains in the catchment areas of rivers.

The Burhi Gandak, Bagmati, Kosi, Ganga and Punpun rivers were flowing above the danger mark at some places.
