Panel moots suspension of RJD MP
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: A Parliamentary Committee has recommended the suspension of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) member Rajesh Kumar Manjhi from the Lok Sabha for 30 sittings of the House. Also, it said he should be restrained from taking his spouse or companion on official tours for the remaining duration of the 14th Lok Sabha.
Report tabled
In its report tabled in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, the committee — set up specifically to address a complaint filed by Mr. Manjhi’s wife that he was misusing the railway pass meant for his spouse to take another “woman along with him even on his official tours” — said it was of the firm view that “deterrent punishment needs to be meted out” to the member for “his grave misdemeanours.”
