ANANTAPUR: The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Thursday staged a novel protest at Kadiri in the district demanding issuance of house site pattas to the poor who had raised about 800 huts last month. Party activists and leaders tied banners written with slogans like “Government should open eyes and give pattas to poor” to four donkeys. They took a procession from the party office to the Tahsildar’s office. Fearing intrusion oby the CPI activists into the office the Tahsildar, the staff of the office closed the office doors when the former reached the office with donkeys. After the efforts to submit a representation to the Tahsildar were failed, the CPI activists tied their representation against the donkeys and raised slogans against the Government.
