Compensation for farmers

ARIYALUR: Steps have been taken to give fair compensation to land-owners whose lands will be acquired for setting up a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) near Perambalur, District Revenue Officer B. Sankar said on Thursday.

Presiding over a ‘farmers’ grievances day’ meeting here, he said the compensation would be paid as per the norms. it had been planned to apportion a part of the compensation as the land-owners’ share for the SEZ project. A training programme would be conducted for their legal heirs. — Staff Reporter
