Kakinada: The IFTU District General Secretary J Venkateswerlu and Rythu Coolies’ Sangham leader G Adinarayana demanded the Government on Friday, to immediately release the leaders of the peoples’ organisations arrested by the anti-naxal squad police at various places in the district during midnight raids.
They expressed apprehensions about the safety of the arrested leaders. They said, Rythu Coolies’ Sangham district leader K Venkateswerlu was arrested in Rajahmundry, PYL District Secretary P. Prathap in Korukonda, PDSU District Secretary M.Ramakrishna and Ramana in Rajahmundry.
Suicide
A fisherman Borra Arjunarao (38) reportedly committed suicide by pouring kerosene and setting himself ablaze at his house in Bhiravapalem village on Friday.
