Whipping up support: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, along with those who joined the Janata Dal (Secular), in Bellary on Saturday.
BELLARY: Money earned through mining activity has caused huge “political pollution” especially in Bellary district, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy said on Saturday adding that the people should realise its implications. He was speaking at a public meeting at Avambhavi in Bellary on Saturday after welcoming a large number of people into the Janata Dal (Secular). Development work
Mr. Kumaraswamy took an indirect dig at Janardhan Reddy, MLA and said that the reputation of the district was being tarnished by some people. Development work had been given a backseat while mining issues were being given prominence, he said. The Government, would take steps to control it. He exhorted the people to elect only “good” administrators and “discriminate between the good and bad.” He said the coalition government had come out with several welfare schemes, especially for women, and added that during “Janata Darshan” and “Grama Vastavya” programmes, he had made efforts to solve the problems of the people. All praise
Kurgodu MLA and Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Suryanarayan Reddy praised Mr. Kumaraswamy for trying to solve the problems of the people. Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Basavaraj Horatti was among those present.
