Staff Correspondent
Belgaum: “The best felicitation for any judge is to get active participation of advocates in early disposal of litigations.” This is how the Karnataka High Court judge Ravindra B. Nayak responded to the felicitation accorded to him and his colleague A.S. Paschapure in Belgaum on Saturday. The Belgaum Bar Association (BBA) had organised a function to felicitate the judges who hail from the district. They were appointed High Court judges last month. Mr. Nayak said “good” and qualitative assistance from the Bar Associations and Bar Council would help judges deliver “good justice” to the litigants. He said he would stress on expediting the process of bringing down pendency level in courts. The courts need to dispose of cases as early as possible, he said. Mr. Paschapure said he was moved by felicitations and greetings by the legal fraternity and people from various sections of society in the district. He attributed his appointment to the High Court to the blessing of his “guru” D.T. Mule and support by fellow members when he was practicing at the Belgaum court. The former president of Karnataka State Bar Council A.G. Mulwadmath and senior advocate S.M. Kulkarni spoke. BBA president S.S. Kivadasannavar presided.
