Spotted deer dies

ATTUR: A spotted deer, which strayed into the human habitations, died after it was mauled by dogs in Talavasal near here on Friday.

Sources said the deer strayed into the Siruvachur village in search of water. It was chased by a pack of stray dogs.

The animal sustained injuries and died.

Following information from the villagers, forest officials rushed to the spot.

Veterinarians conducted the post-mortem. The carcass was buried later.
