COLOMBO: The Sri Lankan Defence Ministry claimed on Saturday that the LTTE’s “plot to utilise chemical weapons in their future battlefields” has been tracked by intelligence sources. In a report attributed to a news website operated out of the nation, the Ministry said there was enough evidence to prove that the LTTE “already has built up stocks of cyanide and potassium during the ceasefire period”. The Ministry also said the LTTE had an underground laboratory in the Adampan area bordering Mannar-Kilinochchi districts. “This suggests the LTTE are planning for chemical attacks in the near future.” The Ministry quoting intelligence sources said the LTTE was planning “massive genocide in the future” because they had lost control of the Jaffna peninsula and the East.
