BANGALORE: The defending girls’ champion Tulsi shot into lead with four points from as many rounds in the Yahoo State under-7 chess championship at the State Youth Centre here on Saturday. In the boys’ section, Rahul Peter and Sharan Rao shared the lead with four points apiece. The results (fourth round): Boys: Sharan Rao (4) bt Ankith Mahesh (3); Piyush Jha (3) lost to Rahul Peter (4); Rajath Rao (2.5) drew with I.S. Prabhakar (2.5); Aaron Arya Fernandes (3) bt Sudhavana Bharadwaj (2); J. Ashwin (3) bt Varun Mammen (2). Girls: Sharanya (2.5) lost to Tulsi (4); M.S. Prerna (2) lost to Nehal Byali (3.5); R. Akshatha (3) bt Reesha Shenoy (2); Namratha Naidu (2.5) drew with Krithika (2); Bhumika (2) drew with Sreekruthi (2).
