“Pay relief”

SRIVILLIPUTTUR: The Virudhunagar Principal District and Sessions Judge, V. Balasundarakumar, has directed an insurance company and the owner of a van to pay Rs. 7.27 lakh compensation to the family of a motorist, who was killed in a road accident, here on Friday.

Ganapathi (45) of Seithur was fatally knocked down by the van in January 2005.

When the case came up for hearing, the Judge asked the Salem-based van driver, Anand, and a public sector insurance company to pay the compensation.
