Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: In separate incidents, two unidentified young men were killed by Blueline buses in the Capital on Saturday.

According to the police, a 25-year-old pedestrian was run over by a speeding Blueline bus at Anand Parbat around 4-30 p.m.

The identity of the deceased was yet to be established. The bus plying between Najafgarh and Fathepuri has been impounded. The driver, Ashok Kumar, has been arrested and a case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving has been registered against him.

In the other accident, a 26-year-old man was mowed down by a Blueline bus, plying between Devli and Mori Gate, on Boulevard Road around 2-30 p.m. The bus was subsequently seized by the police.

“The identity of the deceased is yet to be identified. However, he seems to be a beggar,” said a police officer.

Driver Gurmeet Singh, a resident of Sangam Vihar, has been arrested on charges of causing death due to rash and negligent driving.
