‘Onasadya’ in air

Thiruvananthapuram: Airlines, including the national carrier Air-India, operating to and from the airports in the State to West Asia are serving ‘onasadya’ aboard the flights during Onam.

AI, which has been serving the ‘onasadya’ on board the flights from the State since the last two decades, will be serving the special Onam menu on the flights from Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode airports from August 26 to 28.

Manager, Air India, H.A. Munaff said the special menu to be served to the passengers include ‘aviyal,’ ‘sambar,’ ‘erissery,’ ‘kalan,’ ‘pachadi,’ ‘inji curry,’ ‘mango pickle,’ ‘ada pradhaman,’ ‘pal payasam,’ ‘upperi’ and ‘sharkaravaraty.’

Oman Air began the festivities with Onam celebrations and presentation of awards for outstanding agents for the year 2005 and 2006 here on Tuesday. Country Manager (India), Oman Air, Mohammed Salim inaugurated the function and presented the awards in the presence of District Manager M.A. Altaf.

The airline will serve ‘onasadya’ aboard the flights from Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi on August 25, 26 and 27. Qatar Airways will have ‘onasadya’ aboard the flights to Doha on August 26, 27 and 28.
