Minister distributes free television sets

TIRUCHI: State Transport Minister K. N. Nehru distributed free colour television sets to 903 families in Alangudimahajanam and Sangamarajapuram panchayats in the district on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the State Government had been implementing all poll promises in a phased manner. The Government had embarked on the task of improving amenities in all panchayats in the district under the ‘Anaithu Anna Grama Marumalarchi Thittam.’ Amenities would also be improved in town panchayats under the scheme from this year. The Government was keen on completing all developmental works under the scheme within four years.

The primary health centre functioning at Anbil Sangamarajapuram would be upgraded as a 24-hour hospital, he said.
