Governor, Naidu condemn blasts

Telugu Desam president appeals to people to maintain calm

HYDERABAD: Governor Narayan Dutt Tiwari has expressed shock and pain over the ‘dastardly’ blasts in the city.

In a condolence message, he expressed anguish over the loss of life and injuries caused by the blasts. He conveyed heartfelt condolences to members of the bereaved families. Mr. Tiwari wished speedy recovery to the injured.

Former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep sorrow over the twin explosions which caused huge loss of lives and property. He strongly condemned the ‘terrorist’ act which had shaken him.

Mr. Naidu deplored the choice of terrorist in striking at the city which was known for its peace and communal harmony. He wanted the Government to take strong action against those responsible for the blasts. The TDP leader appealed to the people maintain calm.

Judicial probe urged

The Confederation of Voluntary Associations (COVA) and several peace organisations also strongly condemned the heinous act of targeting innocent people. Mohd. Turab, executive secretary, Mohd. Afzal of PUCAAR, and others appealed to the people to maintain restraint and not to resort to any hasty action. They urged the Government to institute a judicial enquiry into the two incidents.
