ISRO Scientific Secretary killed in accident

TIRUPATI: Rajeev Lochan, Scientific Secretary to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), was killed and another ISRO personnel, Publications and Public Relations Director S. Krishnamurthy, critically injured when the car in which they were travelling rammed a lorry from behind at Sankhampalle village in Pakala mandal, about 45 km from here on Friday.
Driver dies
The car driver, Chandan, also succumbed to injuries on the spot.
The ISRO personnel were reportedly on their way to Tirupati for an overnight halt at the National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL) guest house there.
They were to leave on Saturday morning for SHAR at Sriharikota, where the launch of GSLV is due on September, 1.
The condition of Mr. Krishnamurthy, who was rushed to the TTD-run SVIMS superspecialities hospital here, continues to be critical but stable.
