Housewife ends life

VISAKHAPATNAM: A woman recently married to a UK-based software engineer allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself to a ceiling fan at her house near HSBC in Siripuram area on Saturday due to dowry harassment.

P. Venkalakshmi, 26, who did her Ph.D from Osmania University in genetics, was staying in her in-laws’ house as her husband V. Sashi was in London. Her mother-in-law Laxmi was allegedly harassing her. The police said they had registered a dowry harassment case. The Three Town Police are investigating.
