Archakas complain against CPI (M)

HYDERABAD: The AP Archaka Samakhya has lodged a complaint with the Ramgopalpet police against the Communist Party of India (Marxist), contending that its activists had hurt the sentiments of the members by their ‘insulting’ behaviour.

M.V. Soundararajan, vice-president, in the complaint charged the CPI (M) activists with applying ‘namam’ to those who sat on dharna during the ‘bhoo poratam’ agitation here on Friday. He sought action under Section 295 A (hurting the sentiments of a particular community).

He contended that Hindu religious sentiments were hurt as “we worship ‘namam’, ‘chakram’ and ‘sankhu’ of the Lord. If anyone uses the ‘namam’ to ridicule and mock, indulge in negative propaganda, political agitation, we feel hurt”.

Prof. Soundararajan wanted police to take stringent action so that anyone who wants stage such demonstrations in future would be careful.
