Security beefed up in Varanasi

Varanasi: Security has been tightened here in the wake of twin blasts in Hyderabad.

Security at the sensitive Kashi Vishwanath temple and other vital installations like the Lal Bahadur Shastri airport and the Cantonment railway station was stepped up, official sources said.

Security personnel, deployed at the Kashi Vishwanath temple-Gyanvapi mosque complex, have been put on high alert, the sources said. At the Cantonment railway station, the GRP-RPF personnel were carrying out searches in trains as a precautionary measure, they said.— PTI
