VISAKHAPATNAM: International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) organised painting and Krishna test for school children on Sunday as part of the competitions being organised by ISKCON for school children and youngster on the occasion of Krishna Janmasthami to be celebrated on September 4. Around 450 students from 36 different schools participated. Also, an essay competition was held for senior children on the topic ‘Message of ISKON Founder Acharya Srila Prabhupad to the world and for Children below age of 10 years’ in which around 158 children participated. President of ISKCON Samba Das said that the competitions are being organised every year before Janamashtami since 1999 to improve Krishna consciousness and devotion among the children. On Janamashtami ISKCON would conduct competitions like Fancy dress, solo dance, group dance and drama. One can contact the ISKON Centre in Pandurangapuram. Prizes would be distributed to the winners. The special attraction would be ‘108 Kalash Abhishek’ of Sri Krishna Archa Vigraha at midnight.
