‘Will discuss the issue with Chief Minister’ I have faith in Deve Gowda: Yediyurappa
BELGAUM: The Janata Dal (Secular)-Bharatiya Janata Party Government has not given any thought on the utility of the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha being established here at a cost of Rs. 230 crore. In a brief chat with The Hindu on Sunday, Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa admitted that the Government had not thought about the utilisation of the building which would house a banquet hall, cabinet hall and other facilities available with the Vidhana Soudha in Bangalore. He however said that all the major offices in the city would be shifted to Suvarna Vidhana Soudha so that people would have access at a single point. He was not sure whether the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha would house the divisional-level offices or district-level offices. He was also not forthcoming on the utility of the buildings that would fall empty once the offices are shifted to Suvarna Vidhana Soudha . However, he said he would discuss the issue with Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and take appropriate steps at the earliest. No comment
Earlier, in an informal chat with presspersons, Mr. Yediyurappa refused to make a statement on the issue of transfer of power from Janata Dal (S) to BJP on October 3. When asked how he viewed the sudden change in the tone and content of the public speeches of Mr. Kumaraswamy in Gulbarga and Bellary, he only said: “The people of the State are watching every word and action of the BJP and Janata Dal (S) and I have complete faith in Janata Dal (S) president H.D. Deve Gowda.”
