Krishnagiri: Collector Santhosh Babu on Saturday inspected the progress of development works being executed under the ‘Anaithu Gramam Anna Marumalarchi Thittam’ in Shoolagiri union.
The Collector inspected the creation of a pond constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.3.50 lakh at Ettipatti village in Nadupatti panchayat.
He also reviewed the progress of construction of a drainage channel under the Sampoorna Grama Rozgar Yojana scheme worth Rs.1.5 lakh and construction of group houses costing Rs.37, 000 in the village.
He asked villagers to make use of the rural library being constructed in the village. He asked officials to streamline water supply and sort out the problem of voltage fluctuation in the village. The Collector instructed officials to display details about the nature of work, project cost and date of completion in a notice board in the villages concerned. He instructed officials concerned to expedite the development works on time.
Stressing on the importance of toilets, the Collector said that the Government was providing a subsidy of Rs.1, 200 for construction of individual household toilets.
Rural sanitary marts are being established in all blocks to provide materials required for the construction of toilets.
