GUNTUR: Pradesh Congress Committee president K. Kesava Rao, Political Advisor to the State Government K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, Housing Minister B. Satyanarayana and Minister for Women and Child Welfare N. Rajyalakshmi on Monday will review the arrangements being made for the visit of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to the district on September 1. Sonia Gandhi is scheduled to kick start the second phase of Indiramma housing programme at Tumuluru village in Duggirala mandal on September 1. She would also take part in a grama sabha meet in the village, followed by a public meeting at the Kasu Brahmananda Reddy stadium here. The ministers along with the district officials would visit the village in the afternoon, followed by a meeting with all the elected representatives to be held here in the evening. Observers here feel that the visit of Sonia would also be used as a platform to show solidarity with the leadership of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, in view of the recent political turbulences. Zilla Parishad Chairperson Kuchipudi Vijaya on Sunday appealed to all the Z.P.T.Cs, M.P.T.Cs to mobilise party supporters and make the meeting a grand success. Security arrangements for the meeting were in full swing and a 20-member Special Protection Group squad is expected to reach tomorrow. They would coordinate with the local police in making security arrangements.
