Security stepped up in State
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI: Security has been tightened throughout the State in the wake of Saturday’s twin blasts in Hyderabad.
All checkposts have been put on alert and major railway stations are being closely monitored, a senior police officer said.
Chennai Commissioner of Police G. Nanchil Kumaran said security had been stepped up in public places and checks intensified in and around the city. Policemen in plainclothes would be deployed at shopping malls and other public places.
Members of the public can inform the police control room about unclaimed objects.
