5 killed in two accidents

VIZIANAGARAM: Five persons, including two women, were killed in two separate accidents in the district on Sunday evening.

According to the police, a speeding car going towards Rajam hit 12 persons of a marriage party who were crossing the road at Tehsildar Office in Garividi.

Three persons Botsa Bangaramma (55), M. Veerraju(40) and K. Lakshmi (21) were killed on the spot. Of the nine injured three were admitted in K.G.H. in a serious condition, two in the district headquarters hospital and four in Cheepurupalligovernmenthospital. They were returning from Koduru village after attending a marriage.

The car driver is at large.In another incident at Dattirajeru, Pathivada Vasu (35) and P. Ranga (40) were killed on the spot when the two- wheeler they were riding was hit by a speeding truck.

The deceased belong to Pachinavalasa. They were returning home after attending a marriage in Salur.
