Advancements in Information Technology are registering rapid strides, throwing open various avenues to young engineers and technocrats. It is time the students are motivated towards research programmes, he said at the valediction of the three-day national conference on “Intelligent systems and their applications (ISATA),” organised by Sudarshan Engineering College, near here, on Saturday.
Inter-disciplinary exchange of ideas is a pre-requisite to promotion of research programmes. As formulae and calculations of one branch of engineering found its applications in other branches, inter-disciplinary academic exchanges will be a key to arrive at new findings, Dr. Chidambaram said.
