HYDERABAD: A virtual who is who of Telugu film world and a very few politicians attended the marriage of the Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s son, Lokesh with Brahmani, daughter of film star N. Balakrishna at Hitex grounds here on Sunday. Mr. Naidu kept his word that he wanted it to be a purely family affair while Mr. Balakrishna invited most of the film personalities and his personal friends who included the Assembly Speaker, K. R. Suresh Reddy and Madhu Yashki Goud, Congress MP. Film stars included Rajnikant and Manjula who flew in from Chennai, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Krishnam Raju, Nagarjuna, Rama Naidu and Venkatesh. Conspicuous by absence was mega star Chiranjeevi who is away in London and Junior NTR. Special for fans
From the Telugu Desam party, only the Polit Bureau members attended, two of them with their families. A special was provided for Balakrishna’s fans. Lokesh, who was dressed in a Rajasthani suit, came in a vintage car while Brahmani, was carried in a decorated palanquin. Mr. Naidu’s brother, N. Ramamurthy Naidu and former Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao’s sons received the guests. Brahmani was escorted into the marriage hall by her aunt, Union Minister D. Purandareswari. Her husband, Daggubati Venkateswara Rao made his presence felt at the time of “muhurtham” and left. The marriage hall had a typical filmi setting, with a tastefully decorated “mandapam”. Twenty five vedic pandits were in attendance . Donation
The couple later presented Rs. 50 lakh to 25 Non-Government Organisations, covering at least one in each district, at Mr. Naidu’s residence. The NGOs, were running orphanages, home for mentally and physically challenged children and school for the blind. The donations were channelised through NTR Memorial Trust.
