ELURU: One person was killed and 13 passengers travelling in an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) were injured in a road accident at Sitarampuram on the Chennai-Kolkatta national highway-5 in the Eluru-Tadepalligudem section on Sunday.
According to the police, the dead was identified as M. Babu Rao, 48, a truck owner of P. Gannavaram mandal in East Godavari district.
The mishap occurred when Babu Rao, who was transporting coconuts to Guntur, parked his truck on a road margin and attending on some mechanical problem, the Vijayawada-bound RTC bus coming from Kakinada ramned into the vehicle.
Denduluru police are investigating the case.
