All-round protest: Shops remained closed at Charminar following the BJP sponsored bandh call against the bomb-blasts on Monday.

HYDERABAD: The bandh called by Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday protesting terror strike at Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat resulting in death of 40 people, passed-off peacefully barring some minor stone-pelting incidents. The police have arrested more than 450 people and later released them.

Owners voluntarily closed down shops at many places, while managements of school and college declared a holiday. In some areas, cinema theatres and petrol pumps were closed. Irate party workers hurled stones on 20 RTC buses at Nallakunta, Charminar, Rajendranagar and RTC crossroads and damaged windshield.

Tyres of 17 buses were deflated at Secunderabad station, Musheerabad, Kukatpally and Banjara Hills. They later organised a rasta-roko at RTC crossroads bringing traffic to a grinding halt for almost an hour. The workers earlier took out a rally from the city party office at Barkatpura to Gokul Chat to pay homage to those killed in the blast.

Speaking to media, Mr. Dattatreya criticised the Government for its failure to curb ISI activities in the city.
