Small screen bonanza: HBO is going to screen top Hollywood hits this September
Small screen bonanza: HBO is going to screen top Hollywood hits this September
NEW DELHI: Couch potatoes can look forward to an interesting line-up of movies on HBO that will keep them glued to the idiot box this September. Prime time viewing on HBO includes “HBO Blockbuster Of The Month”, a special television event that premieres a mega blockbuster movie every month; “HBO See It First”, which premieres a new box-office hit each week throughout the year; “HBO Sunday Super Hits”, which showcases popular hits, Asian hits, critically acclaimed hits and much more. In addition, HBO features at least 3-4 new films every month to offer viewers an interesting mix of Hollywood movies based on exciting themes. The run of blockbusters next month includes speed flick “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift”, the cliff-hanging “Vertical Limit”, and the atmospheric sequel to the Batman series, “Batman Forever”. “HBO See It First” is a collection of movies that will premiere for the first time on Indian television. A weekly fixture, this will bring 52 ‘new’ movies to television each year. September’s line-up includes Hugh Grant and Dennis Quaid’s “American Dreamz”, the hilarious “RV” featuring Robin Williams, and the thrill-a-minute “Stay Alive”. The caped crusader makes yet another return to the small screen with Val Kilmer playing the lead in “Batman Forever”. The movie also stars Nicole Kidman and Tommy Lee Jones. Another sequel scheduled for next month is “XXX: The Next Level” and “The Naked Gun: From the Files of the Police Squad”. Both will be screened as part of the “HBO Sunday Super Hits”. The thematic “HBO Hero of the Day” every Monday will showcase action movies such as “After the Sunset” starring Pierce Brosnan, “Hudson Hawk” starring Bruce Willis, and “Death Warrant”. HBO Original Series “Entourage” features Vincent Chase and his buddies as they experience the highs and lows of celebrity life in Hollywood. “Entourage” will be aired every Sunday after the 8 p.m. movie. The channel’s exclusive licensing deals with four major Hollywood studios -- Paramount, Sony Pictures Entertainment (Columbia/ TriStar), Universal Studios and Warner Brothers -- ensure that the run of view-worthy movies never ceases on the small screen.
