NEW DELHI: A non-government organisation, Innocent World Charitable Society, has launched a new project, “Masoom Duniya”, to cater to the needs of mentally challenged children belonging to the economically weaker sections of society. “Masoom Duniya”
The annual day function of “Masoom Duniya” was celebrated at the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology here this past week. Former Central Bureau of Investigation director Joginder Singh inaugurated the function. “Commendable job”
He said the NGO was doing a commendable job to alleviate the cause of differently-abled children in the country. “The number of such children is increasing in Third World countries. Such programmes will go a long way to encourage the children as well as their parents. I laud the efforts of the society for the work it is doing for such children,” he said. Plays, dances and fancy-dress competition
To mark the occasion, children staged plays, performed various dances and also took part in a fancy-dress competition. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s Education Committee chairman Prithvi Raj Sahni said: “The work that is being done here should be emulated by other agencies. The society should approach the Government for financial help. The parents of differently-abled children will also be grateful for the kind of work that is being done here.” Founder-member of the society, A. K. Sharan, said the Innocent World Charitable Society was going about the business of helping children in an “efficient and technical manner” and it was the duty of all citizens to support it in any way they could.
