Jayanthi celebrations in the city

KOCHI: Rallies and public meetings marked the Sree Narayana Jayanthi celebrations in the city.

Jayanthi rallies were taken out in the morning and the evening.

Sree Narayana Jayanthi was celebrated in all the 74 sakhas of Kanayannoor Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam, said P.P. Rajan, vice president of the Kanayannoor unit.

The Vanitha Sanghoms organised Pookkalams in various sakhas. Onapudavas were distributed to people from economically weaker sections of society.

Festival song singing competitions and recitation of poems penned by Sree Narayana Guru were also organised in various sakhas, he said.

Three sakha buildings were inaugurated in the city on Tuesday in connection with the Jayanthi celebrations.

The sakha building at Veliyanad was inaugurated by N.D. Premachandran, member of the SNDP Yogam council. The Mulanthuruthy and Mamangalam sakha buildings were inaugurated by Mr. Rajan.

Public meetings were also organised in connection with this.

A combined procession of three sakhas was taken out at Thrikkakara.
